The Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration (RISI) is the only organization worldwide that trains Certified Rolfers. Founded by Dr. Ida P. Rolf in 1971, RISI also provides continuing education for structural integrators, sponsors research on Rolfing® structural integration, and publishes a professional journal in the field.
RISI’s students come from diverse backgrounds, many starting a second or third career, others embarking on their first. The common thread among them is their commitment to a healthcare career where they can make a difference in people’s lives through touch.
You can start at The Rolf Institute with little or no background in bodywork. Or, as an experienced massage therapist, you can attend RISI to deepen your skills. In either case, when you complete your program you’ll graduate as a Certified Rolfer.
For those new to bodywork, RISI’s course of study begins with a six-week intensive in Foundations of Structural Integration. Experienced massage therapists begin their program with an accelerated two-week course, Advanced Foundations of Structural Integration. In each case, the foundations class is your gateway to the Rolfing Certification Program.
All of RISI’s programs are built around small classes and individualized instruction, combined with academic rigor, experiential learning and hands-on practice opportunities. The Rolf Institute’s diverse and distinguished faculty includes many of Dr. Rolf’s original students. All are active professionals who regularly work with clients to deepen their own understanding of the work that they teach in RISI’s classrooms.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, RISI has a growing network of international affiliate training centers, presently operating in Europe, Brazil, Australia and Japan.
